Information flow without EDI is as follows:



  • The fig shows the information flow when paper documents are shuffled between organizations via the mailroom
  • When the buyer sends a purchase order, then relevant data is extracted & recorded on a hard copy.
  • This hard copy is forwarded to several steps, at last manually entered into the system by the data entry operators
  • This process is somewhat overhead in labor costs & time delays.

  • Buyer sends a purchase order to seller computer
  • Seller sends a purchase order confirmation to the buyer
  • Seller sends a booking request to transport company
  • Transport company sends booking confirmation to the seller
  • Seller sends advance ship notice to the buyer
  • Transport company sends status to seller
  • Buyer sends Receipt advice to the seller
  • Seller sends an invoice to the buyer
  • Buyer sends payment to seller EDI as a fast, inexpensive & safe method

 CLOUD COMPUTING REFERENCE MODEL The cloud computing reference model is a general high-level architecture and is meant for a cloud computing reference architecture provided, which outlines the primary performer/actor and the understanding of the cloud computing needs, uses, features, and standards. Solution: a) Star Schema is shown in the figure below: b) First, we should use the roll-up operation to get the year 2004(rolling-up from the day then month to a year). After getting that, we need to use the slice operation to select (2004). Second, we should use roll-up operation again to get all patients. Then, we need to use the slice operation to select (all). Finally, we get a list of the total fee collected by each doctor in 2004.
